Saline tattoo removal
Saline removal treatment is a widespread technique in permanent makeup that fades and elevates pigments implanted into the skin during microblading and scalp pigmentation. Clients typically need multiple sessions to reach their desired outcome.

How does it work?
Changing the tattoo colour or adding more tattoo pigment usually fixes minor problems, but in some cases, the only option may be to remove the unwanted pigment entirely.
Removing permanent tattoos can be complicated, similar to traditional ones, but several methods are available for clients unhappy with their permanent makeup. Standard tattoo removal methods include topical treatments, laser tattoo removal procedures, dermabrasion, and saline removal.
Benefits
Saline tattoo removal is a painless procedure with a quick recovery time. It offers excellent results and a fast, natural healing process.

Procedure
The specialist uses a permanent makeup machine and needle module to inject a lightening saline solution into the skin’s top layer above the current pigment.
The treatment is designed to remove the pigment from the skin. After the saline removal procedure, the area usually forms a crust and heals.
Because of the active components in the brightening solution, the pigment particles will gradually diminish over several weeks following the saline tattoo removal procedure.
Once the skin has healed, the client can undergo another saline tattoo removal session and repeat the procedure until all cosmetic tattoo pigment has been removed.
Once the desired result has been achieved, the client can have another permanent makeup session on the treated area.
Number of sessions
The number of sessions required depends on the pigment saturation, the degree of inlay and the amount that needs to be removed to achieve the desired result. In many cases, it is necessary to lighten/remove only a certain percentage of the density, after which we can continue the correction process with colour correction.
A few sessions of saline tattoo removal may be required to significantly lighten the tattoo. After a free consultation, you can predict the effectiveness of the safe process for each individual.
Advantages
More and more masters offer saline solution removal, which is considered less invasive than laser.
Some whitening solutions use natural ingredients, which clients prefer to avoid harsh chemicals or lasers on their skin, especially in sensitive areas such as around the eyes.
This approach is often more cost-effective for the client and the specialist as they can use their existing equipment (rotary PMU machine and sterile disposable needles) rather than invest in expensive new tools or cosmetic products.
Saline removal removes all ink pigments and colour without affecting hair growth in the treated area, making it safe for all skin types. Depending on the pigment being targeted, other methods may be less effective or cause discolouration.

FAQ
Do I require training to perform this technique?
A PMU master should never attempt to remove pigment without proper training from an approved company, academy, or instructor. Before applying, it is essential to thoroughly research and confirm the accreditation of any permanent makeup course.
Once trained, it would be best if you were always prepared to demonstrate your qualifications to clients and answer any questions they may have about the removal process before the procedure. Managing client expectations is always crucial!
